What children make and do
Painting & Drawing
Watercolour, acrylic, pencil, charcoal, and pastel. Colour, composition, and texture at every level.
Sculpture & Craft
Air-dry clay, wire sculpture, paper maché, weaving, and origami — spatial thinking in 3D.
Creative Writing
Stories, poetry, comic strips, and illustrated books. Narrative thinking that supports literacy.
Printmaking & Collage
Stamps, monoprinting, and collage using recycled and natural materials.
Puppetry & Storytelling
Children design characters and create short performances — art, narrative, and confidence combined.
Collaborative Projects
Each term, the group builds one shared large-scale piece displayed at the family art show.
How sessions are structured
Warm-up
Creative prompt
A brief prompt, sensory activity, or group brainstorm loosens thinking and opens up possibilities. No wrong answers.
Core block
Main making time
Children work on individual or group projects with guidance from educators. Direction always comes from the child.
Process over product
Reflect
Share & notice
Children share what they made and what they noticed. Reflection focuses on process: what they tried, what surprised them.
Great for children who…
Say they're "not good at art" — we gently change that belief
Need an outlet for emotions they find hard to put into words
Thrive with open-ended, creative challenges
Are developing fine motor skills linked to writing readiness
Enjoy making things with their hands
Benefit from a calm, imaginative space after a busy school day
Skills children build
Fine motor skills
Directly linked to writing readiness — developed through every session.
Creative confidence
The belief that your ideas are worth expressing. Built deliberately over time.
Emotional literacy
Art as a healthy outlet for feelings that are hard to name or say out loud.
Narrative thinking
Storytelling skills that transfer directly to reading comprehension.
Spatial reasoning
3D work and visual composition link to math and science achievement.
Resilience
Trying, adjusting, and trying again — a habit built session by session.
